I finally feel like I’m getting the hang of having a capsule wardrobe and have come to a point where I feel my clothing reflects not only my style, but also my lifestyle, allowing me to do more with less and be practice as well.
My wardrobe is made up of Slow Fashion items, collected from eco + ethical brands, swaps with friends, second-hand stores, vintage boutiques or hand me downs passed down through the generations. Reducing my impact on the planet and its inhabitants and allowing me to break away from the vapid and narcissistic trends promoted by fast fashion.
Each individual piece I have in my capsule has a story, one I can share with pride if asked by inquiring minds and happily find comfort in when I put each item on. Embracing slow fashion and the capsule wardrobe along with it has enhanced and enabled my ability to participate in the art of slow living, encouraging me to do less ‘doings’ and just be; present in myself and my surroundings rather than focused on what I will, am or am not wearing.
