So, since I already had made an owl mask for a photoshoot, I figured I may as well make the most of it and make a costume to match for Halloween festivities and such. You can find the mask D.I.Y HERE and can make the costume by following the steps below:
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
– a few feather style fabric shirts
– hot glue
– one piece of felt
– bodysuit or dress
Go to your local charity shop and find fabric or shirts that look like the feathers from your mask
Cut the shape of a feather from the fabric of your shirt(s)
Cut the sides of the pre-cut fabric to resemble the vane of a feather and stitch down the center of the fabric feather to create the stem.
Repeat until you have enough feathers for your costume and stitch the top of each feathers onto the seam of your bodysuit shoulders. Repeat on both sides of the body suit.
Cut a piece of felt into a U shape
Hot glue some left over feathers to the front of the felt and either sew felt pieces on the top to create a necklace, or sew the felt U onto the front of the bodysuit.
