Rather last minute, I decided to whip up a second costume for my Saturday night out. As everything was a bit of a rush, alcohol consumption was included in the creation of this costume, hence the not-so-helpful pictures … but ce la vie! Here’s how to make the clown costume above:
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
– one over-sized charity shop t-shirt blouse
– one collared blouse
– scissors
– needle and thread
– hot glue
– mini pom poms
-fishnets or tights
STEP 1, 2 & 3
Place the collared blouse inside the t-shirt blouse and sew the seams of the two together (as seen in 3.) – when the seams are successfully attached, cut the rest of the collared shirt off about four inches below the stitched collar.
STEP 4
Cut the sleeve of the leftover fabric from the collared shirt into two even pieces
STEP 5
With the first section of fabric, accordion it as you would if you were making a paper fan and sew the center to make the shape of a bow. Repeat with the second piece.
STEP 6
Using a pair of scissors, cut the accordioned fabric into strips, keeping the stitched center intact. Then sew the pom pom to the t-shirt blouse.
STEP 7
With your glue gun, glue the mini pom pom balls onto your fishnets or tights.
STEP 8
Rub your friends lipstick on your cheeks and lips and curl your hair as curly as you can and giggle off to your next adventure!
Such a cute idea! I love how your costume turned out. Your blog is adorable, I just came across it and love your style.
